HISTORY WOMEN'S CYCLING TEAMS
POWERED BY GCM
In 2016 Maaslandster International Women’s Cycling Team was founded by Global Cycling Movements. The team was registered as a Dutch Club Team and proudly have provided an opportunity for women to experience professional racing around the world including Europe, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. With proven results within three years, the team has become well known throughout Australia, Asia and Europe’s Benelux region. After three years the project with the Maaslandster club did come to an end and it was, Tjarco Cuppens, owner of GCM, who continued the team and founded the new MEXX-Watersley International Women’s Team. With a base at the Watersley Sports & Talent Park a more professional cycling environment was created. A big achievement was that MEXX-Watersley International Women’s Team was ranked as the best Club Team worldwide at the end of 2019. In 2020 the team merged with the Luxembourg based Women's Team, Andy Schleck-CP NVST-Immo Losch, where Tjarco became the new Technical Manager. With joining several new partners, for the 2021 & 2022 seasons the team did register as a UCI Women’s Continental Team. During this period Andy Schleck-Immo Losch-CP NVST was able to take part in the biggest WorldTour races of the world like, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Fleche Wallone, Amstel Gold Race and RideLondon Classique. Unfortunately at the end of 2022 the Andy Schleck-CP NVST-Immo Losch was folded by team owner Claude Losch. In 2023 Tjarco did join the Norwegian UCI Women's Team Coop-Hitec Products as Sports Director and did participate in the Tour de France Femmes. In 2024 the team changed their name into Team Coop-Repsol and gained 6 UCI victories so far this season.
